School Routine
All students must report at school by 7:30am. On the first day, new students are to enter the school and then proceed directly to the Administration Office. On the first morning your son/daughter will receive pencil cases containing a pen (for Grade 5 and upwards) or pencils, a ruler, pencil sharpener, eraser and crayons/coloured pencils as well as their required exercise books and textbooks. During the day, the students will be issued with their timetables.
The School Day ends at 3:20pm for Preschool and Primary students and 4:00pm for JHS students. Parents and guardians can come to pick up their wards from this time or children can use the school bus.
Home Work
At New Jerusalem International School we believe that homework has an important part to play in helping students to progress. Studies suggest that homework can add between two to eight months’ progress to a student’s learning. Homework develops skills of independent study and encourages a positive, self-disciplined attitude to study. It enhances learning by enabling preparation for lessons and stimulating enquiry. As such, students receive homework four times a week. All homework should be signed by a parent or guardian before it is handed in to teachers. This is to ensure that parents remain involved and keep track of the academic development of each child under our care.
Each student is to present their completed and signed homework to their teachers immediately they arrive in their classroom.
The school offers a pick-up and drop off service with our school bus. Interested parents or guardians can contact the school to sign up for the school bus service. Please note that bus fees can be paid monthly or termly
